The Colva police have arrested two persons in connection with the bull fight that took place in the open fields opposite the Fisheries Department, Colva on Monday.
The FIR was registered upon a State complaint lodged by PSI Raksha Naik, stating that on January 20, at around 16:30 hrs, in the open paddy fields opposite the Fisheries Department, Colva, accused persons Joel Fernandes resident of Per Seraulim and Philip Kevin Rodrigues, resident of Paroda, Quepem, had organised a bull fight between two bulls for public entertainment, in a full public view, thereby inciting bulls to fight among themselves thereby subjecting them to cruelty.
After the police station registered the FIR under section 11 (m) (n) of Prevention of Cruelty to Animal Act, the duo were arrested and later released on personal bond.
