Union minister hands over cheques to Moula-Bhati disaster victims

Union Minister of State for Defence Shripad Naik yesterday handed over  cheques  of Rs 35,000 each to four disaster victims from Moula-Bhati as financial assistance under the Chief Minister's Relief Fund Scheme. This small program of handing over cheques was held at Shripad Naik`s residence at Sao Pedro, Ribandar yesterday.

On behalf of the disaster victims,  social activist Ramrao Surya Wagh and Nandesh Naik, son of  Bhavana Naik  accepted the cheques.

Two years ago, heavy rains destroyed the house of  Naik family staying together  at Moula-Bhati.  Kolu Naik,  Umakant Naik, Suresh Naik and Bhavana Naik, four heads of families approached  Shripad Naik for financial aid.  The Union Minister sympathetically considered their appeal and immediately started efforts to provide financial assistance to them under the Chief Minister's Relief Fund Scheme. The beneficiaries have thanked Union Minister of State for Defence and Chief Minister of Goa Pramod Sawant for providing them financial assistance.
