Around 50 workers employed at the Mopa International Airport site on Wednesday reacted angrily over the issue of pending payment and threatened to stop work completely. The tension eased after company officials assured to clear their payments by evening. Locals have requested the government to look into the matter as such incidents have been on the rise in the last few months.
The workers had previously pelted stones at an office over the issue of pending wages. Recently, some trucks were gutted in a fire and locals believe some disgruntled workers may have been linked to the incident.
With media persons prevented from entering the site, it is difficult to ascertain the situation at the site.
