The Hindu Janajgruti Smiti (HJS) on Wednesday urged the South Goa Collector to ban on use of illegal loudspeakers for Azan as per the order of Goa bench of Bombay High Court.
A delegation of the HJS also appealed to the Collector to initiate strict action against the fanatics involved in throwing stones on Ramnavmi procession.
The HJS delegation comprised of Prasad Shinkre, Satyavaijay Naik, Sudhakar Aglave, Adv Sanjay Chodanker and Mahesh Pai Kane, submitted two separate memorandums were handed over to the Collector, one drawing the attention of the authorities to the High Court order on use of loudspeakers by the mosques for Azan.
The delegation also drew attention of the Collector to the alleged stone throwing incident on the procession organized on the occasion of Ram Navami in many states including Vasco in Goa.
