The UVA will help several veterans in obtain the DLC that has to be submitted online in November for veterans residing in Goa

Rajiv Kumar, President of UVA said that many ex-servicemen working in banks presently had come together to help other veterans.

"This is a digital age and many are facing difficulties in procedures to obtain and upload the DLC in the banks and hence we have opened centres where we can facilitate the veterans and help them so that they don't have stand in the long queues in banks. In case a veteran is in the age group of 70 and above, we are going to their homes to offer the service while maintaining social distance guidelines. Any other veterans who want to voluntarily join us in this camp to help others are most welcome, " said Kumar.

UVA General secretary Avinash Tiwari said that the UVA had received overwhelming response and hence UVA had decided to extend this service to elderly citizens drawing pensions and  benefits from various agencies.

"Overall we will reach out to around 2,000 elderly persons residing in Vasco/Ponda area and with an overwhelming response UVA is planning to extend the services to other parts of Goa . We are trying to reduce the efforts taken by our veterans to obtain this DLC. We are also offering home service to widows and senior citizens and we are grateful to all the people who have come forward to set up these camps while risking their own lives amidst the pandemic. We will have this camp every Sunday at different locations," said Tiwari.
