18th Goa State Conference of CPI held

The 18th State Conference of the Communist Party of India (CPI) was held in Porvorim on Sunday. Comrade Dr Balchandra Kango inaugurated the conference at Azada Bhavan.

More than 200 delegates from across Goa attended the conference which was conducted by a five-member Presidium of Comrades, including Shashikat Gaonkar, Kalidas Naik, Dilip Korgaonkar, Sandesh Naik and Jayashree Utagi.

Two arrested for theft in Mapusa

Mapusa Police arrested two persons for burgling a house and committing theft at Peddem, Mapusa.The accused Sahil Sayanawale (23), a native of Karnataka, and Razak Mujawar (23), a native of Maharashtra, were apprehended on Monday.According to police, the two accused entered a locked house by break-opening the main entrance door belonging to Dr Purushottam Pednekar near Sai Girls Sports Hostel, Peddem, Mapusa on Saturday last week.The accused committed theft of valuable…
