The blood donation camp organised in Margao on Sunday, witnessed 54 persons donating blood, including 37 male and 17 females. The camp organised by a local businessman Vikram Verlekar with the help of social organisations and clubs in Goa was held in coordination with the Goa Medical College Hospital (GMC) with 7 teams assisting the camp along with 10 volunteers from various clubs in Goa. The GMC team headed by Dr Sanjay was assisted by volunteers from Rotary Club of Margao, BNI Matagram, Lions Club of Margao, Rotaract Club of Margao, Samrat Club of Margao, Daivadnya Samaj Margao, MCC Margao, BPS Sports Club Margao and Akhil Gomantakiya Daivadnya Brahmin Youth Association.
Thanking those who donated blood at the camp, Dr Sanjay pointed out that donating blood at a time like this with the ongoing Covid19 pandemic, will save many lives. Vikram Verlekar thanked the GMC Blood Bank team, local authorities, collectorate, municipality, police and the clubs for volunteering to be a part of this noble cause. BNI Mathagram president Sushant Surlekar and Daivadnya Samaj president Atul Verlekar thanked the donors, team of volunteers and GMC for following Covid SOPs.
