Cortalim MLA Alina Saldanha on Sunday along with Health Officer Dr Soccoro Quadros inspected the newly upgraded Cansauilm Promamry Health Centre. The upgraded Cansaulim PHC has been declared as Step up hospital for Covid patients and is all set to function from Monday.
Speaking to media, Saldanha said that she along with the health officer had completed a brief inspection of the newly upgraded Cansaulim PHC.
"I can now say that the facility is ready and as we toured different places in the hospital, the doctor has informed me that the casualty will deal with the regular emergencies while the first and second floor was specifically for the co-morbid Covid patients and I think the testing of patients for Covid will be done at the basement and all the necessary infrastructure has been put in place. It is my duty to thank the Health Officer Dr Soccoro Quadros who has been working on the upgradation of the centre for a long time," said Saldanha.
The hospital was declared officially as a Step up Covid centre from May 4 but before that the Chief Minister and the health Minister had been discussing with the Health officer regarding the infrastructure and he has followed all the instructions and I am glad that the infrastructure is ready at a time when it is needed most to save lives. I thank the CM and Health Minister for giving this hospital extra attention and making it available with all the infrastructure when it was needed most," said Saldanha.
Health officer Dr Soccoro Quadros said that with permissions of DHS director and Goa Government, the hospital would function from Monday.
"Casualty services will start by Monday 8 am and will be provided 24 x 7 and this will be a Step up hospital for Covid patients with co-morbid complications who will be treated here . We will also do testing of patients from 9 am to 1 pm. We will have this hospital functioning for the people from Monday onwards," said Quadros.
