MARGAO: Agxem Sports Club blanked SFX Camarxett 2-0 to advance to the quarterfinals of 1st Caniza Peixoto Memorial football tournament, organised by Agxem Sports Club, at St Alex Church ground, Curtorim, on Thursday.
Agxem's Jovial Martin scored the first goal in 20th minute with a powerful left footer.
In the second half, Camarxett's Marcus, Velroy and Meliston combined and tested the Agxem goalkeeper and defence but couldn't succeed in netting the equaliser. Agxem scored another goal as Nickson Castanah left footer shot deflected off an opponent in defence and crushed into their net in the 50th minute.
Velroy Paes of SFX Camarxett was awarded man of the match by Carmo Anthon Fernandes, former goalkeeper of Agxem Club.
