A talk on the topic 'Sahyadri-Khanda - Myth and History' by Balaji Shenoy will be held on September 23 at 6 pm at the Institute Menezes Braganza Hall in Panaji. Sahyadri-Khanda, an appendage of Skanda Purana, is widely talked about whenever the history of Goa is discussed. It describes various geographical features of ancient Goa and the mythological narratives related to their origin. The talk will mainly explore the development of Sahyadri Khand and mythical stories about Puranic gods and goddesses that are popular among the Goan Hindu community. Shenoy is a young and dynamic research scholar. He is an archivist and head of research in the Department of Archives, Government of Goa.
