BITS Pilani faculty conducted training sessions for Indian audit and accounts department officers on audit of forestry and biodiversity issues. Dr Rajiv Chaturvedi, Asst Prof, department of Humanities and Social Sciences, BITS-Goa was recently invited by The International Centre for Environment Audit and Sustainable Development (iCED), Jaipur to conduct a session for officers in virtual mode.
Dr Chaturvedi delivered a session on ‘Mapping of Climate Change Hotspots in Indian Forests’ as part of the national training programme on Audit of forestry and biodiversity issues with focus on use of recent techniques. The training was attended by over 20 officers from different parts of India.
Dr Chaturvedi has been doing a lot of research in this field and was recently selected as an expert member for Goa State Governing Council of the State level steering committee for national adaptation funds for climate change established by the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change, government of India for a 3-year term.
