OLD GOA: After having filed a disqualification plea against Chimbel sarpanch, RGP leader Ajay Kholkar has now filed a disqualification petition against a panch.
The petition was filed with the Director of Panchayats under Section 210A of the Goa Panchayat Raj Act, 1994.
In the petition, Kholkar has stated that the panch should be removed from office as a member for promoting illegalities, acting detrimental to the interest of the panchayat, misusing his powers and misconducting in the panchayat.
The petition by Kholkar comes against the backdrop of the petitioner filing a complaint with the Old Goa police of death threat against the panch.
Subsequently, Kholkar had also filed plaint with the DGP seeking action against the panch under The Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989.
