PANAJI: Bharatiya Krishi Anusandhan Parishad in association with Ramnatha Krishna Pai Raikar Agriculture College, Savai Verem conducted a demonstration on organic farming for farmers. The event was organised to offer benefits to the farmers in SC and ST categories under Union Government’s special scheme and Bharatiya Kisan Sangh along with the Employment Creation Centre at Raikar Agriculture College organised the event. The farmers from Ponda, Bicholim, Tiswadi and Canacona were present for the programme.
“The farmers must adopt appropriate technology to make progress in their vocation. They should work towards increasing their income and production while cutting their costs,” advised Dr Pravin Kumar, director, Union Coastal Agriculture Research Centre. Shrirang Jambhale, principal of the College highlighted that the future of farming is green and the new generation must look at agri education as a part of their career, and all must jointly work towards achieving this goal.
