On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the Women's Studies Programme, Manohar Parrikar School of Law, Governance and Public Policy, Goa University, and the Cinephile Film Club will organise film screenings on March 8 from 9.30 am onwards at auditorium I, Maquinez Palace, ESG.
The films to be screened are ‘Hidden figures’ (directed by Theodore Melfi, 127 mins), ‘Chakori’ (directed by Sumitra Bhave, Sunil Sukhtankar, 30 mins) and ‘She Write’ (directed by Anjali Monteiro, KP Jayasankar, 54 mins).
At 6.30 pm on March 8, the Cinephile Film Club will screen the 2008 film, ‘The Beaches of Agnes’ (112 mins) directed by Agnès Varda, the legendary filmmaker who broke the glass ceiling. This documentary has the director reflecting on her memories, through art. There will be no screening on Thursday, March 10, informed the Cinephile Film Club.
