PANAJI: Goa Tourism will take part in India’s biggest travel trade event, Travel and Tourism Fair (TTF) Kolkata 2025, from July 10 to 12 at Biswa Bangla Mela Prangan. The event will help Goa showcase its focus on sustainable and community-based tourism, moving beyond beach holidays to promote rural trails, wellness experiences and cultural tourism. Director of Tourism Kedar Naik said Goa aims to share its evolving identity with visitors and industry professionals at the fair. The Goa pavilion will feature digital tools and VR experiences, with spot bookings for holiday packages available at the stall to help visitors plan trips directly with the Goa Tourism team and local operators.
Tejjus Shirodkar sets record by reciting 130 scientific names
PANAJI: Tejjus Surendra Shirodkar, a Grade 8 student of The Gera School, Kadamba Plateau, has set a record by reciting 130 scientific names in just one minute and 50 seconds. She memorised and recited the scientific names while looking at the common names of wildlife. Her feat has been recognised by the Harvard World Record, Asia Book of Records, and India Book of Records, bringing pride to Goa.
