Himachal man arrested with drugs at Morjim

Pernem police on Tuesday arrested a man from Himachal Pradesh on charges of possessing drugs valued at Rs 34,000 at Morjim- Pernem. 
According to reports, the Pernem police received a tip regarding a drug pedlar and a team under the supervision of PI Jivba Dalvi raided a site at Urmalbag-Morjim. During a search, police is reported to have found Charas valued at Rs 34,000 in the possession of Chander Mani (30) of Tikri-HP.

The accused was arrested under Section 20(b)(ii)(A) of NDPS Act and is currently in police custody. Interrogation is currently going on to find out the source of the drugs.Further investigation is in progress under the supervision of SDPO Gajanand Prabhudessai and SP North Utkrisht Prasoon.

PWD cracks whip, to disconnect illegal water booster pumps in Port town

VASCOThe PWD on Tuesday has decided to disconnect water booster pumps illegally connected to the main pipeline and has also warned of strict action against those using such water boosters in the port town. “The PWD has issued an office order for the disconnection of booster pumps. The order has instructed maintenance staff to disconnect booster pumps installed by consumers to the direct pipeline in Mormugao municipal area,” said a source at the PWD Office…
