BICHOLIM
A day-old infant was found alive near a tree near the jetty at Maina Navelim in Bicholim taluka. The baby was wrapped in a saree and abandoned near a tree in front of the security guard's office near the jetty. The baby is currently being treated at GMC Hospital and is said to be in good health. A security guard on duty at the jetty found the baby and later an ambulance rushed the infant to hospital. Sub-Inspector of Police Prajit Mandrekar is investigating the matter.
