The popular Konkani monthly Gulab in association with Fr Freddy J da Costa Memorial Trust (FFJDCMT), Konkani Bhasha Mandal (KBM), Felicio Cardoso-che Pattlavdar (FCP) and Ravindra Bhavan, Margao will celebrate Konkani Journalism Day on February 2, 2021, at 4 pm at Ravindra Bhavan’s Conference Hall, Margao, in commemoration of the publication of the first Konkani Journal ‘Udentechem Sallok’, on February 2, 1889, from Pune by the late Eduardo Jose Bruno de Souza.
Director and Editor of Prudent Media, eminent journalist Pramod Acharya will be the guest of honour for the function and deliver a talk on ‘Gõychi Osmitai Ani Potrkaritechi Bhumika’ (Goa’s identity and the role of journalism in its sustenance).
The function will also include Fr Freddy J Da Costa and Felicio Cardoso Memorial Day celebrations, felicitation and presentation of 2019 Fr Freddy J Da Costa Memorial Gulab awards and Felicio Cardoso’s Journalism award.
