The Kadamba transport Corporation has come forward to support Rabies control by getting the education posters pasted on the buses. This initiative was inaugurated on the World Rabies day by the General Manager of Kadamba Transport Corporation Sanjay L Ghate who flagged off the bus after the posters were exhibited on the bus and Dr Murugan Appupillai, Director Mission Rabies spoke to the Bus drivers and conductors on rabies and dog management. Goa has been notified as rabies controlled state by the Government of Goa, following repeated vaccination of about 70% of dogs year after year, continuous education and rabies surveillance by Directorate of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services through Mission Rabies. Following this there is a need to create great awareness on the rabies control activities to maintain this status and to move towards Rabies free Goa.
