Montfort Academy Goa with the assistance of post graduates from Nirmala Institute Panaji has recently launched a virtual counselling cell under the banner “VAYAM”. This was launched at the hands of Dr Mahesh Pai, Principal, Govt College of Home Science, Miramar. Bro Jaico Gervais, Chairman of Montfort Brothers of St Gabriel was also present.
The Director and Principal of Montfort Academy Bro Prem SG explained the main concept, which is to connect people who are in emotional distress, with a counsellor from the VAYAM team, who will then guide and counsel the individual. Also, VAYAM’s aim is to uplift the youth to have sustainable livelihood through their career oriented programmes.The team of VAYAM is trained and supervised by Bro Dr Yuju Francis and Bro Dr Franky Noronha. Chief Guest Dr Mahesh Pai appreciated the initiative taken to launch VAYAM, and also expressed his happiness and praised the team for helping the people during the pandemic. He assured full support from his side.The counselling team members of VAYAM are Bro Prem SG, Tania Sirodkar, Ancy Fernandes, Ankita Swar, Librian Fernandes, Ayadlin Rodrigues, Vaishnavi Hegde, Ayesha Pereira, Shalini Lilley, Janessa D’Mello and Nickton Dias.
