The Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services (AHVS) has now decided to make Aadhaar cards mandatory for disbursal of schemes.
Director of AHVS Dr Agostinho Misquita has published a notification stating that the government has made use of Aadhaar card as a mandatory identity document for availing benefits or subsidies under the AHVS.
Applicants will have to submit their Aadhaar card numbers and undergo Aadhaar authentication, while those who do not have Aadhaar card will have to apply for the scheme with a temporary registration process and then complete Aadhaar registration process to get final registration.
The prime objective of this move is to bring transparency and efficiency, while it would also help the beneficiary to get entitlement directly in a convenient and seamless manner by obviating the need to produce multiple documents to prove once identity.
The Aadhaar card will be mandatory for several schemes, which include supply of low input technology poultry birds to rural farmers 2018, renovation of cattle shed, purchase of milch animals, community dairy farming, backyard poultry scheme for SC/ST, loan on agriculture and allied activities.
Other schemes include purchase of ready poultry feed, assistance for goat rearing, modern dairy scheme, financial assistance for infrastructure of poultry scheme, dairy kit scheme, rearing boilers scheme, dairy equipment scheme, incentive to milk producers and the Kamdhenu scheme.
