The ‘National Science Day' will be observed on February 27 at Shree Mallikarjun and Chetan Manju Desai College, Canacona. The National Science Day is celebrated in India to commemorate the award of the first Nobel Prize to Indian scientist Sir C V Raman, for the discovery of the ‘Raman Effect’. Prof Rodney Fernandes, a young Canaconkar presently teaching at IIT Bombay at the department of chemistry will interact with the students through online mode on this day.
“Our celebration wishes to emphasize the culture of science for the wellbeing and prosperity of mankind. The National Science Day function in our College is catalysed and supported by the National Council for Science and Technology with the support of the Goa State Council for Science and Technology,” stated Dr Manoj Kamat, principal at Shree Mallikarjun College.
