MARGAO: Navelim Villagers Union defeated Uguem Rising Club 6-5 via the tiebreaker to enter the semi-finals of the 1st All Goa Guardians Angel festival soccer inter-village football tournament, at Curchorem ground, on Tuesday.
Navelim Villagers Union opened the scoreline through Mark Gomes in the 39th minute but the joy was short-lived as Aaron Gomes equalised for Ugem Rising Club in the 40th minute.
In the tie-breaker, r Navelim Villagers Union scored through Clinton Niasso, Frenden Pires, Sadroy Costa, Velington Almeida and Mark Gomes while Aron Gomes, Milfred Dias, Asiyo P and Jerico Dcosta were on target for Uguem Rising Club.
Aron Gomes received the Man of the Match trophy from Comedian Neto Vales.
