One electrocuted to death in Candolim

One person was electrocuted to death in Candolim on Wednesday, while his assistant who had gone to save him also suffered a shock but is out of danger.

The incident took place at around 9.30 am when two labourers climbed the terrace of a residential house at Camotimvaddo in Candolim.

Police sources informed that the deceased Kalipodo Roy (40) along with Rakesh Roy (25) had climbed to cover the water tank on the terrace of a house.

After covering the tank, the deceased moved on the side of the terrace and came in contact with a live electrical wire connected to a solar panel.

With the intensity of the shock, he was flung on one side of the terrace.

The other labourer who rushed to his aide also suffered a shock and was admitted to the Goa Medical College, Bambolim, and is reportedly out of danger. Both the deceased and his assistant are natives of West Bengal. Calangute Police are investigating further.
