MOHAN Foundation in association with IMA Goa & Mapusa Municipal Council had an organ donation awareness programme to commemorate Organ Donation Day on August 19. The Special Invitee was Mapusa MLA, Joshua De Souza, Guest Speaker was Dr Amol Mahaldar (IMA Goa “ Organ Co- Ordinator) and Guest of Honour was Dr Sophia Rodrigues (IMA Goa “ Bardez President) The programme was attended by councillors & staff of Mapusa Municipality, where Gabriel Pereira introduced MOHAN Foundation, how the foundation takes up similar awareness programmes and have Gift of Life Courses where one can be organ ambassador in promoting organ donation and other courses as transplant co-ordinator, etc. Dr Amol explained the details of organ donation, as organ transplant is a miracle of modern medicine and is giving a new lease of life to hundreds every day. Dr Sophia gave some real-life examples about organ donation. Mapusa MLA Joshua De Souza and the chairperson spoke a few words on how the council can take up this initiative on a micro-level to spread awareness.
