Around 400 saplings were distributed freely to people to mark Environment Day celebrated by the St Michael’s Church at Orlim on July 2. People were invited to the Church campus and fruit-bearing saplings were distributed to them at the event, which was sponsored and arranged by OSAT (Orlim Social Action Team). In his message to the people, Parish Priest Fr Raju Godinho said: “People worship invisible God, and destroy the visible world, not knowing that God is found in the visible world, consequently destroying God himself. You harm the creation, you harm the creator.” The parish priest with the fabrica, PPC and youth also planted saplings on Fabrica land and other vacant places in the village. The motive behind this activity is to encourage people, youth and children to take care of the trees in a very particular way. The parish priest requested people to plant at least one sapling and to take care of it.
