Panaji: People’s High School celebrated the 79th Independence Day with patriotic fervour. Harish Adconkar, Managing Director of Goa Waste Management Corporation, was the chief guest at the function. After hoisting the National Flag, Adconkar encouraged students to work with patience, integrity and a scientific outlook to help make India a developed nation by 2047. He also highlighted the importance of self-reliance, entrepreneurship and self-employment for the country’s progress.
Students of different sections presented a cultural programme showcasing India’s journey from the freedom struggle to the present day, including the theme of ‘Operation Sindoor’. The event was attended by Managing Trustee Rahul Deshpande, Trustee Shilpa Deshpande, section heads, parents, teachers, students and PTA members.
