Bicholim : Sai Nursing Institute, Sanquelim, celebrated the 79th Independence Day with pride and patriotic spirit. The Chief Guest was Shri Balchandra Amonkar, an ex-military officer, joined by dignitaries including Chairman Pandurang Kurtikar, Manager Santosh Malik, Executive Director Arjun Parab, Officiating Principal Aditi Sawant Dessai (SNI), Dr Shanti Almeida (BNYS), and Dr Gauri (BPT). In his address, Amonkar spoke about the true meaning of belonging to the nation and the responsibilities of every citizen. He encouraged students and staff to work towards building a healthier, stronger and more compassionate India.
Chairman Kurtikar stressed the importance of responsible citizenship. He highlighted the need to reduce plastic use and adopt sustainable habits, reminding everyone that small actions can make a big difference in protecting the environment. Students added to the celebrations with soulful patriotic songs that filled the campus with unity and love for the country.
