Abhishek Gadgil and Shreyesh Gaonkar Students of Government College of Arts, Science & Commerce Sanquelim, Goa won the All Goa Inter Collegiate Quiz Competition on the Topic “ Life and Times of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj (1630 to 1680) with stress on Shivaji’s Fort. The Quiz Contest was organized by The Department of Information and Publicity as part of the annual Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti Celebrated to pay tributes to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj on the occasion of his birth anniversary celebrated with great pomp & enthusiasm at Farmagudi, Ponda recently.The second Prize in the quiz contest was bagged by Preeti Dewoo Parab and Tanaya Dayanand Rawal, students of Vidya Prabodhini College, Porvorim whereas the third Prize went to Sera Goes and Lalita Kumari, Students of Goa University,Taleigao . Two Consolation prizes were bagged by VM Salgaocar College, Miramar, Panaji and Swami Brahmanand Mahavidyalaya Tapobhoomi, Kundaim. The Winners of the Quiz Competition were awarded a cash Prize of Rs 7500, Rs 5, 000 & Rs 3, 000 as first, second & third prize respectively.Dipak Bandekar, Director of The Department of Information and Publicity, Prakash Naik, Information Officer & Shanto Naik , Assistant Information Officer gave away the Prizes to the winners. Naguesh Sardessai, noted quiz master conducted the quiz competition. In all ten Colleges participated in the quiz competition
