The Directorate of Food and Drugs Administration in association with CCP Panjim has enrolled the hygiene rating scheme for hotels, restaurants, caterers, sweet shops, meat shops, bakeries operating in the CCP jurisdiction recently.The representatives of various hotels, bakeries etc attended the programme. Presentation on hygiene rating initiative was given by Designated Officer Richard Noronha which was followed by experience sharing from the Hygiene Manager of Taj Hotels Dorothy Pereira. FDA Commissioner Jyoti Sardesai while guiding the participants encouraged the food business operators to enroll for the hygiene rating which would benefit the business and would also help them comply with the hygiene requirements thus ensuring safe and wholesome food is prepared for the consumers. The Commissioner of CCP Agnelo Fernandes motivated the Food Business Operators to enroll themselves with the FDA and has stressed their commitment to ensure that all eateries under the CCP jurisdiction are certified within the next two months.
During the said programme, FDA handed over Food Safety and Consumer Awareness display boards for displaying the same at prominent places in the jurisdiction of Corporation City of Panaji.
