PERNEM: A shack in Vitthaldas waddo area on Morjim beach caught fire in the wee hours of Wednesday after a domestic tourist lit fireworks. Pernem police have arrested a Hyderabad-based man in this connection. Pernem Police Inspector Vikram Naik said Morjim Beach has been declared as an eco-sensitive zone since it is the nesting site for Olive Ridley turtles and no music is allowed after 10 pm. However, the tourists have continued to play loud music and have lit fireworks despite these restrictions.
