PORVORIM: Porvorim police have arrested a man on charges of breaking into a house and stealing goods worth Rs 1.05 lakh at Socorro. According to Porvorim Police Inspector Anant Gaonkar, the complainant stated that an unknown person broke into his apartment in Socorro on February 21 and stole his laptop, tab, smartwatch and various liquor bottles, all worth Rs 1,05,000.
Porvorim Police then analysed various CCTV footage and through technical surveillance traced the accused, Sumeer Sharma (37) of Karnataka at his rented room in Nagoa-Bardez. “All the stolen property was recovered from his rented room and he has been arrested under Sections 454, 457, 380 of IPC. He is currently in police custody,” said Gaonkar, who led the investigation team.Further investigation is in progress under the supervision of SP North Shobit Saxena.
