Goan police officer, SM Prabhudessai, who is posted as Superintendent of Police of the Police Headquarters, has been inducted into the Indian Police Service (IPS). He has been allotted the Goa segment. An order by Joint Secretary (Police-I) AK Singh states that Prabhudessai will remain on probation for one year as per the rule of IPS (Probation) Rules, 1954 and he will obtain induction training too. The appointment comes into force from December 13, 2022, the date of the issue of notification. He is the fourth Goan officer to be inducted into the IPS cadre.
