MARGAO: Spring Boys Mandopa beat host Rebello Pandal Maina 5-3 to move in the quarterfinals of 4th all goa inter-village open football tournament, organised by Davorlim Sports and Cultural Club, at Davorlim club ground, Laymati, on Thursday.
In first session of play, Spring Boys Mandopa scored two goals in fifth and 20th minutes through Costa while Rebello Pandal's Marcus missed the opportunity to score in 30th minute as his header hit the cross bar and went away.
At the half time break Spring Boys Mandopa led 2-0.
Changing over, Rebello Pandal went all guns blazing out and scored two goals in 40th and 43rd minutes through Marcus. As the game progressed, Mandopa's Costa netted with placement in the 46th minute. Later, Prestly scored twice for Mandopa in the 48th and 56th minutes. In injury time, Rebello Pandal pulled a goal back through Edwin with a fine header from Marcus' free kick.
