PANAJI: St Xavier’s College in Mapusa joyously celebrated the Feast of St Francis Xavier, the College’s Patron, on December 9, 2023. The day commenced with a Eucharistic Celebration led by Rev Fr. Lucio Dias, featuring the theme ‘Like St Francis Xavier, Let Us Do What Jesus Did’. The homily emphasized humility and simplicity, mirroring Jesus and St. Francis Xavier’s dedication to God.
Post-Mass, gratitude was expressed, and the college magazines ‘Halcyon’ and ‘Eloquence’ were unveiled. The festivities also marked the return of ‘Socials 23’, a student-planned dance event. Principal Prof. (Dr) Blanche Mascarenhas and others inaugurated the event, where students and teachers bonded through dance and music. The highlight was the crowning of Mr Xavier and Ms Xavier, concluding the memorable evening with a slow set by DJ Hyper Traxx.
