PANAJI: The esteemed NGO ‘Ganv Bhavancho Ekvott’ has been conducting a distinctive initiative for senior citizens above 60 in the village for the past 15 remarkable years. The programme celebrated its 15th anniversary, inaugurated by an initial cohort of 40 compassionate individuals. Held annually on Goa’s Liberation Day, the event showcases activities like dance, singing, and various programs designed to uplift and engage senior citizens.
This gathering acts as a platform for the elderly to build connections, fostering a sense of community while enjoying a shared meal. The palpable positive atmosphere within the village is commendable, with the programme’s growth from 40 to 350 senior citizens participating attesting to its resounding success and profound impact on the community.
