Lions Club of Canacona along with Leo club of Canacona with its annual programme on Teachers Day with felicitation of three Teachers from Canacona and felicitation of meritorious students From SSC and HSSC from Canacona was organized during the Region Chairperson, MJF Lion Dr Celso Fernandes Visit to the Club. The 3 teachers felicitated for their dedication were Maya Gaonkar in the Category of Higher Secondary Teacher from SS Angle Higher Secondary School, Sanjyot Naik, a high school teacher from Shri Katyani Baneshwar Vidhyalaya at Ponsulem and Pratima Prabhudesai, a primary teacher from Government Primary School at Mahalwada, Paingin. Twelve meritorious Students from SSC and HSSC from Canacona were also been felicitated. From SSC were Shweta Velip, Kshiti Amshikar, Aman Painginkar and Merril Dias and from HSSC were Anjali Lolienkar, Aditi Pagi, Melvisha Pereira, Sita Gosavi, Tejasvani Nadge, Josinta Gotarna, Laximesh Velip and Averin Dias from Science, Commerce, Arts and Vocational streams. The President of Lions Club of Canacona Lion Patricia Mendonca e Torres welcomed the gathering and spoke on the importance of Teachers Day. Chief Guest Lion Dr Celso Fernandes, Region Chairperson of Region 1, District 317 B spoke on teachers role in the society. Lion Sachin Kale Zone Chairperson was present along with teachers from Canacona, members of Lions and Leo Club of Canacona. Leo Deepa Gosavi, President of Leo Club of Canacona proposed vote of thanks and the master of ceremony was Lion Yogita Vernekar.
