PANAjI

The Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) along with other tourism stakeholders were invited by the department of Tourism in Goa and tourism minister Rohan Khaunte on the first direct flight from Goa to Dehradun, that took off from the Manohar International Airport. GCCI was represented by Jack Sukhija, chairman of GCCI’s tourism committee. Appreciating the efforts taken by the minister for tourism and the department, in exploring synergies between Goa and Uttarakhand, GCCI commented that this was a good move. “We appreciate the efforts. Uttarkhand is well known as the spiritual capital of India. It has a huge wellness and meditation component as part of its allure with yoga as the core component. In today’s times where mental health is a huge issue, the incorporation of wellness, meditation and yoga will enhance and upgrade Goa’s tourism offerings,” said GCCI. The three day interaction was a good start with face-to-face connect being established between Goa and Uttarakhand “ both at the government level as well amongst the tourism stakeholders. “We are sure that the health and wellness opportunities Goa offers will get more prominence and wellness tourism will get strengthened,” stated GCCI release.
