MARGAO: The South Goa district and Sessions Court on Thursday granted anticipatory bail to Illyas Abdul Dhalayat and Mohammed Ismail Lalanawer, both residents of Navelim in connection with the case registered by the Margao police for the alleged offence of forgery and cheating.
In this case, the Margao police had registered the case that on the basis of false power of attorney two sale deeds were executed.
Saying the police did not spell out the role of the applicants, the court said no purpose will be served by arresting the applicants. The custody of the applicants is not at all required for any custodial interrogation.
In the event of the arrest of the applicants, the court directed them to be released on bail upon furnishing bail bond of Rs 20,000.
