Zeitgeist Goa is organizing its second event, under its new banner The Learning Foundry, under which it will host workshops, talks, conversations and more. The first event under this banner is a Guided Writing Workshop 'Wri(gh)ting Genders?' by Debi K and Ryle Souto, will be held on the April 13 at 9:30am at AJ’s Restaurant. Both the artistes will put up short solo performances drawn from their own lived experiences of being part of the LGBTQ+ community, followed by a discussion on autobiographical storytelling. Allowing them to reflect on the performances, participants will engage in a free-writing session where they will write their own autobiographical stories and they then share them during the open mic. Debi K is a queer storyteller, writer and anti-caste activist currently based in north Goa. Ryle Souto is a drag artist, who's work transcends the ideas of gender and focuses heavily on conceptualization and ideation and has performed all across Goa. The event is organized by Loretta L. Rodrigues, an educator in English Literature, who teaches several courses one of which is Representation of Gender and Sexuality in Literature. The workshop is a 3 hour session for Rs 300/- per head.
