A man from Curti-Ponda was arrested by Old Goa police on charges of possessing drugs worth Rs 52,000 in Merces on Thursday morning.
Old Goa police received information that a man in his thirties would go near a bar and restaurant, in Merces with consignment of narcotic drugs to deliver it to a prospective customer between 3 am and 3.30 am. Accordingly, a team was formed under the supervision of SDPO Panaji Sudesh Naik and a narcotic raid was conducted.
The accused Krishna Khadka (33) Haveli in Curti-Ponda was found in illegal possession of 520 grains of narcotic drug suspected to be Ganja valued at Rs 52,000. He had allegedly gone to deliver the same to prospective customers. The drugs were seized from the accused, who was later arrested under the NDPS Act. Further investigation is in progress under the supervision of Panaji SDPO Sudesh R. Naik.
