The classic Japanese film, ‘An Autumn Afternoon’ directed by Yasujir Ozu will be screened on January 19 at 6.30 pm by the Cinephile Film Club at Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG). The show hosted by Sachin Chatte, will be of one hour 50 minutes duration. A 1962 release, the film is in Japanese, in colour and with English subtitles.
Regarded as one of the greatest filmmakers of all time, ‘An Autumn Afternoon’ was one of the many masterpieces by the legendary Japanese filmmaker, Yasujir Ozu. It was also his last film. The hallmark of Ozu’s films was the simplicity of his storytelling and yet it was so very profound.
