Archbishop Filipe Neri Ferrao on Friday launched the Diocesan Centre for Social Communications Media's (DCSCM) social media news service for the Archdiocese of Goa and Daman, on the Solemnity of the Annunciation.
Commenting on the launch, Director of Diocesan Centre for Social Communications Media (DCSCM) Fr Barry Cardozo said this social media news service is one more important step by the DCSCM to connect the faithful of the Archdiocese with each other and with the world.
“Even though DCSCM, Goa works in collaboration with the secular media, this is a step forward towards having its own independent news service for the benefit of the faithful and general public,” said Fr Cardozo.
He thanked Archbishop Ferrao for his support and guidance to this initiative and called upon priests, nuns and lay faithful to collaborate willingly in this important endeavour.
“We shall soon establish Parish Media Cells with the help of parish priests, assistants, chaplains and deanery communications animators for more efficient functioning of this news service. Those who are interested to help us may contact us directly.”
“People can contribute by sending reports of various events in their Parishes through their parish priests or assistant parish priests, deanery communication animators or directly to DCSCM, Goa by email ([email protected]). Those who wish to avail of this news service may send a WhatsApp message to 9607895679," Fr Cardozo added.
