In a swift and coordinated operation, the Colvale Police successfully traced and rescued a 17-year-old girl from Gujarat who had been kidnapped by a 23-year-old man identified as Pralhad Singh, a resident of Rajasthan.
The breakthrough came after the Gujarat Police alerted Colvale Police, indicating that the accused was likely hiding within their jurisdiction.
Acting on the tip-off, a team led by Police Inspector Vijay Rane launched a search operation using photographs and inputs from reliable sources.
The accused and the minor victim were located near the Tivim railway station, where police swiftly intervened and took them into custody. Singh had reportedly arrived in Goa a few days ago along with the minor.
Following the rescue, Colvale Police handed over both the victim and the accused to Gujarat Police for further investigation and legal action, as the original case had been registered in Gujarat.
The operation highlights the effective inter-state coordination between law enforcement agencies and the prompt action of the Colvale Police in ensuring the minor’s safe recovery.
