MARGAO
Even as the Ministers in the Pramod Sawant-led Cabinet are all bracing up to fan out to various talukas, beginning from Friday, Sports and Art and Culture Minister Govind Gaude will descend in Salcete to hear public grievances.
While denying that the exercise of Ministers’ visit to the talukas is done with an eye on the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, Gaude said the Lok Sabha elections are still more than a year away, saying that the BJP has a strong connection with the people across the country.
The Sports Minister will descend at Velim with an official in tow to inspect the long-pending sports complex before he heads to Salcete coastal belt. Around noon, the Minister is having a meeting at the Ravindra Bhavan, Margao and later interaction with elected representatives and citizens at the South Goa district Collectorate at 3.30 pm.
Speaking to the media on the sidelines of the Kala Rang festival at the Ravindra Bhavan, which was attended by noted film actress Padmini Kholapuri, Gaude said the Ministers visit to the taluka is an important decision taken by the Chief Minister. He, however, said the visit should not be a one-day event but should be followed by visits by other Ministers as well in the talukas.
