Goans should protest, come on roads: Ex-Calangute MLA

MAPUSA

Former Calangute MLA Agnel Fernandes has cautioned rent-a-bike and car owners that the government aims to undermine their businesses with the Konkan Railway Corporation's (KRC) new rental service initiative.

Fernandes urged local rental operators to actively protest against KRC's plans.

Fernandes highlighted that KRC has issued a tender inviting bids for bike and car rentals, yet no Goan rental operators have voiced opposition to the decision.

"They should have protested and taken to the streets against this diabolical decision," he asserted.

He emphasised the urgency of the situation, stating, "Goans should wake up because this government wants to finish the only business that lies in the hands of Goans. If KRC starts bike and car rentals, then nobody will come to Goans."

Fernandes' call to action underscores the growing concern among local business owners about the potential impact of KRC's entry into the rental market.
