MARGAO
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has said the practice of roping in government primary school teachers for BLO work will be discontinued within two months.
He has further suggested to the PTAs of government primary schools to involve retired government servants, former Panch and ZP members during school activities.
“Parents have been complaining that GPS teachers are not reporting for work since they are engaged for BLO training. I want to assure that GPS teachers will not be roped for BLO work after two months”, he added.
Underlining the need to involve locals who have excelled in their respective fields, Sawant said students from Konkani and Marathi schools have made it to big positions, adding “We have to bring such personalities before the students to give them the inspiration and create a new environment”, he said while asking the GPS management to accept donations in the form of water filters, black boards etc from locals, including ex-students.
Saying that Goa has implemented the Vidhya Samiksha Kendra in the state, he said the director of education can monitor from the Directorate what’s going on in the schools every eight days.
“We will keep a track whether the teachers as well as the students are regular or not in the schools”, he added.
