As strange as it may be but Vasco has health department offices at three different locations much to the confusion of the residents.
According to sources, the health department has offices at two locations in Vasco, one near the old RTO office and one above the Punjab National Bank besides having another office operating from Ravindra Bhavan Baina .
Mormugao Municipal Council ( MMC ) has now come forward to an offer a solution with an aim to help the people and bring together the offices at one location.
MMC Chairperson Leo Rodrigues on Tuesday even suggested to the department two locations under the MMC during the joint meeting that discussed preparedness to control and prevent dengue outbreak in Vasco.
" We have seen that there are three different places where people go to put forth any issues or for any works related to the health department. We have now suggested to offer our premises to the department provided they are willing to pay the rent of the premises," said Rodrigues.
"We have offered our Old fish market premises that was housing Goan traditional fruit and vegetable vendors or a space in the newly built Municipal Market complex at Sada. Both these premises have a huge area and can bring all the three different health department offices and staff at one location under a single roof for the betterment of the people, " said Rodrigues.
