The Santa Cruz panchayat, in its initiative to eradicate garbage black spots in the village, have inaugurated a mobile cart that will be stationed at garbage spots in different places of the panchayat jurisdiction.
This aim is to encourage residents to give segregated garbage at this collection points if they have missed it giving at door to door collection.
Sarpanch Sonu de Araujo who came up with the idea said, “We request all house owners to inform their tenants to give segregated garbage at door to door collection or at this collection point and discourage them to throw it roadside, which is making our village dirty”.
“As of now it’s only one cart and more carts will be made available in coming months,” she added.
Ex sarpanch Mariano de Araujo was also present at the function along with the garbage collection workers and supporters.
