Reacting to the protest against him by local Ajay Kholkar, Chimbel sarpanch Sandesh Shirodkar informed that action against the tribal widow was taken after complaint was filed by her neighbour.
“We had tried to bring about a mutual understanding between the two parties but the complainant refused and even complained to the Tiswadi BDO,” Shirodkar stated while stating that the permission given by the panchayat was of repairs and not new construction.
However, when The Goan questioned why the repair permission was first not revoked before going ahead with the process of demolition, the sarpanch did not have any answer.
On the allegations of promotion of escorts services through panchayat website, Shirodkar informed that the firm operating the website informed that it was a virus, after which the same was rectified.
To a question on the not holding of the adjourned Gram Sabha, Shirodkar informed that they have asked the TCP to give a date for a joint inspection of the site along with the locals. “Until and unless the site inspection is not held, there is no point in holding the adjourned Gram Sabha,” he added.
